OUTSIDE THE TRUMP TAJ MAHAL IN ATLANTIC CITY

 

It's been closed for over a year now

but the cupolas still loom

over the city like dirty shadows.

I'm thinking of how to measure

the thousands of hands out of work,

the darkened dining room, dust

settling into the crystal wine glasses,

the hotel tower blocking out

what's left of the sun.

Eddie Krzeminski was born and raised in Naples, Florida. He is currently an MFA candidate at Florida International University. In his spare time he reads, writes, and plays bass in two bands. His work has previously appeared in The Mangrove Review and Plath Poetry Project.

Cameron Morse: In and Out of Total Eclipse

Cameron Morse taught and studied in China. Diagnosed with a brain tumor in 2014, he is currently a third-year MFA candidate at UMKC and lives with his wife, Lili, in Blue Springs, Missouri. His poems have been or will be published in over 50 different magazines, including New Letters, pamplemousse, Fourth & Sycamore and TYPO. His first collection, Fall Risk, is forthcoming from Glass Lyre Press.

Dimitri Reyes is a SortaRican PuertoVegan poet born and raised in Newark, New Jersey. Gary Charles Wilkens: Edit the Sad Parts

Gary Charles Wilkens’ first book, The Red Light Was My Mind, won the 2006 Texas Review Breakthrough Poetry Prize. His manuscript Fayetteville was a Finalist in the 2014 Moon City Review Poetry Contest. His poems have appeared more than 70 journals and anthologies, including The Texas Review, Moon City Review, Passages North, the Adirondack Review, James Dickey Review, Melancholy Hyperbole, and Midwest Quarterly. His fiction has appeared in Drunk Monkeys, Foliate Oak Literary Magazine, and Pale Ghosts Magazine. His day job is Associate Professor of English at Norfolk State University in Norfolk, Virginia.
