Shannon Hozinec: A Family History
Art by Shannon Hozinec
Below are an array of gorgeously surreal paintings by artist Shannon Hozinec. These pieces, as do many of Hozinec’s paintings, evoke a liminal world from our nightmares — manifesting the grotesque figures of both our imaginations and realities into tangible beings that seem to lift off the canvas and into our very chests. They beat with life, a life stolen from our inner fears, and ask us to face ourselves.
Shannon Hozinec lives in Pittsburgh with her three cats and two mannequins. Her work can be found on Instagram @ochreandichor and at shannonhozinec.com.
