Theory of the Universe

Time dilates.
The cosmos blooms outward.
We are tiny seeds of light.

A speck of space dust
upon arrival, golden
embers when we leave.

I expected more.
I don’t know
what I expected.

Tops spin sparks in the dark.
Light running from the start.
Energy pushing and pulling.

Everything is liminal.
I hope we are growing
closer together now.

Blooming like a nova,
a burning yellow flower
turning back around.

We can’t look back.
The places we knew are
all space and time lost.

We used to be small
and close together like
bright seeds in the dirt.

We grow away from
each other once again,
but time repeats itself.
